The Wilson family of Cross Hills Gardens, Kimbolton is proud to host the biggest Country Fair in the Manawatu. Come along and do your Christmas shopping, enjoy a delicious lunch and coffee and wander through our 18 acres of gardens. We have a Children's play area to keep young ones happy, and of course our Plant Centre will be stocked with our premium field-grown rhododendrons and azaleas for sale. Who will be at the Cross Hills Fair this year?

We have a wide variety of stallholders with a fantastic selection of original products to choose from, including Quality crafts, Designer jewellery, Baby gifts, Children’s clothing, Plants, Food, Natural Beauty products, Wooden toys, Preserves, Home & Garden Sculptures, Art, local Winery and lots more. Shop! Shop! Shop! at over 120 unique stalls.

Grab something to eat from one of our many specialist food stalls or the Garden Cafe and head into the gardens to find a nice restful picnic spot.

Take a stroll through our beautiful Spring rhododendrons and azalea gardens.

Buy our rhododendrons and azaleas. Best of all you don’t even have to carry your plants back to the carpark as we will deliver them to our Plant Crèche for collection when you leave. After you've bought your plants grab a coffee or real fruit ice-cream.

Visit the Children’s Play Area. Young kids will love the bouncy castle and go cart rides and you can send the older ones through our Camellia Maze to see if they can find their way out again! It's a great day out in the Manawatu countryside for everyone at Cross Hills Gardens.

FAQ

How much does it cost for the Cross Hills Fair? $10 per adult (over 16) to access the fair, gardens, cafe, plant centre and children's play area for the whole day! How will I find my way around? On entry you will be given a map of the fair layout, garden layout and facilities e.g Eftpos, toilets, food stalls, first aid and lost and found. Also look out for our friendly staff wearing the 'ASK ME' name badges. How do I know what the weather will be like? If you live locally listen to the Manawatu radio stations, we will also update our website on the day or give us a call to hear our latest weather message. Free call 0800 RHODOS or 06 328 5797. What happens if it rains? The fair is still just as fun if it happens to rain, just bring your brolly and some boots! Is there plenty of parking? Yes absolutely- and the parking is FREE. You will be directed by the parents and children of the local Kimbolton School. Do you have Eftpos/ credit card facilities? We have Eftpos for entry and to get cash out. Many stall holders won't have their own Eftpos machines so cash is king! Please try and bring some cash with you to be ready to shop as soon as you arrive. Can I bring a bus group or mini-van? Yes, the more the merrier! We have exclusive parking areas for large coaches, please let us know in advance for preferential treatment. Can I bring my dog for a run? Sorry, no dogs allowed, except for guide dogs. Are the grounds suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs? Yes, all our access paths are nice and wide and most of our garden paths are metal/gravel or small stone. Where can we eat our lunch? We will provide some seating around the food areas but highly recommend you picnic in the beautiful gardens. I want to buy some big rhododendrons- how do I get them to my car? We have a fantastic FREE 'Plant Creche' service running all day. Any plants you buy from our Plant Centre will be delivered to the Plant Creche at the carpark entrance and looked after until you are ready to pick them up on your way out. If you can't fit all your purchases in your car we will arrange them to be freighted to your home.

Cross Hills Gardens is located 4 kilometres north of Kimbolton village in the picturesque Manawatu countryside. It's a 20 minute drive from Feilding, 40 minutes from Palmerston North and 2.5 hours from Wellington.

Registrations for the 2012 Cross Hills Gardens Country Fair are now open.

All Cross Hill Fair stalls are situated outdoors on grassed or metal/gravel areas.

You will need to bring your own gazebo or tent to shelter product from the weather (if necessary).

Sites are either LARGE: 4m (width) x4m (depth) or SMALL: 2m (width) x2m.

Electricity is not available.

Trestle tables can be hired and will be delivered to site.

Staff will be busy organising facilities during setup so you will need to be self-sufficient and bring your own handy helpers!

We can provide information about accomodation options for non-locals and we welcome campervans overnight- a great way to get set up nice and early.

Please email us for our very reasonable site fees. We like our stallholders to be happy and have a successful day so we try to keep a good standard and variety of products.
